Actress Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to three months in jail by a
Beverly Hills court. The young 'celebrity' will have to serve a sentence for
having skipped the requirements of probation to which she was sentenced for
abusing alcohol and drugs and for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Since
last May, Lohan has been wearing an ankle bracelet, which constantly
measures her blood alcohol level. The night of the MTV Movie Awards, the
alcohol meter jumped, revealing that she had consumed alcoholic
    beverages.

That same month, the actress did not attend an
appointment with the Los Angeles Justice alleging that she had lost her
passport in Cannes, where she was participating in the city's Film Festival.
For these reasons, Judge Marsha Revel has sentenced Lohan, 24, to spend the
next 90 days in prison. The young woman must surrender to the Court on the
    20th.
"I don't take this as a joke. It's my life. It's my career.
I'm responsible for my actions. I've done my best. I don't want her to think
I don't respect her," the actress assured the judge.
According to
Cheryl Marshall, responsible for the rehabilitation program to which the
actress was sentenced in 2007, Lohan skipped meetings and classes nine
times. "She has nine fouls since December 2009," she explained to the
    judge.

This is not the first time that the protagonist of 'Mean Girls'
faces jail. In 2007 she was arrested twice under the influence of alcohol
and drugs. She was then sentenced to spend 76 hours in jail and undergo
    rehabilitation treatment.
Revel recalled that Lohan should have
already settled her problems with the law a year ago, but that due to her
"creative excuses to justify that she did not attend the program" she was
forced to extend her sentence for another year.

The actress's father asked the judge not to send her daughter
to jail, but to put her in a rehabilitation center because he did not want
her daughter "to be another Hollywood statistic."
