Alex Beresford's Reflection on GMB Feud with Piers Morgan: A Tearful Triumph in the Celebrity Race Across The World

The Bristol-born presenter, Alex Beresford, and his father, Noel, achieved a heartwarming victory over competitors McFly's Harry Judd and All Saints' Melanie Blatt as they reached the checkpoint in Norway.

Alex Beresford has taken a moment to contemplate his turbulent history with Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain, following his emotional win in the Celebrity Race Across The World. The renowned weather presenter participated in the BBC competition, where celebrities, paired with their family members, embark on a 10,000-kilometer journey from Africa to the Arctic.

In this incredible journey, Alex, hailing from Bristol, and his father, Noel, shared a moving moment as they crossed the finish line in Tromsø, Norway. Their triumph came ahead of Harry Judd and his mother, Emma, who trailed them by just four minutes, and All Saints' Melanie Blatt and her mother, Helene, securing the third place.

The father-son duo couldn't contain their excitement upon clinching victory, jumping with joy and celebrating their remarkable achievement. "Yes, Dad, we did it!" exclaimed Alex, 43, as he embraced Noel, choked with emotion.

Reflecting on their win, Alex expressed, "It feels absolutely fantastic. Right now, we're on top of the world."

Noel chimed in, "It was an extraordinary experience. Alex kept urging me, 'Come on, Dad,' and I'd reply, 'I'm right behind you!' He was constantly pushing me, and it was all worth it in the end!"

"This has been the most challenging experience of my life," Alex acknowledged. "But we had the opportunity to travel together, as father and son, a privilege not every duo gets. That's why this adventure will remain unforgettable and cherished for the rest of our lives."

In the nail-biting final episode, Alex and Noel started the last leg in the lead, despite never previously reaching a checkpoint first. Beginning at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate with over 2,000 kilometers to the finish line in Tromsø, the father-son pair decided to make a detour via Sweden, stopping in Stockholm to replenish their dwindling budget by working at one of Sweden's lakeside saunas, shoveling snow.

During their final work shift, Alex mused on his race experience, saying, "The race fully consumed us, and the outside world seemed distant, which was perhaps a blessing. There's no time to dwell on things; you must move forward mentally to move forward physically. I feel great about it. I've had to readjust. I've never taken this much time off work before, and the race has challenged my routine. I've definitely become more open-minded. It's been liberating, to say the least."

Alex made headlines in March 2021 following a dramatic on-air clash with his Good Morning Britain co-host, Piers Morgan. After Piers launched into extensive rants about the Duchess of Sussex following her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Alex challenged him on his comments, leading to Piers dramatically leaving the set and later announcing his departure from Good Morning Britain.

Reflecting on the events of 2021, Alex shared on Celebrity Race Across The World, "I've never taken such an extended break from work. The pace is different, especially in the media world.

"The fallout from the GMB Meghan Markle incident was definitely a shock to the system. Finding yourself in the midst of a media storm is overwhelming. When you face online criticism, you must either stand firm or retreat. You must develop a thick skin quickly.

"It rattled me a bit, but I undoubtedly feel stronger for having gone through it. Looking back now, I'm thankful for my family and friends, because they're the ones who see you through."

Alex concluded, "You can't dwell on things. You have to adjust mentally to move forward physically. It's been a liberating experience, allowing me to let my guard down, so to speak."
