Prince William and Princess Kate Safeguard Prince Louis' Gift from Uncle Harry

Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly taking measures to ensure that their youngest son, Prince Louis, does not handle the valuable gift presented by his uncle, Prince Harry.

At Prince Louis' christening, Prince Harry gifted him an £8,000 first edition copy of Winnie-The-Pooh. However, royal expert Phil Dampier suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are cautious about letting their five-year-old son handle the prized book to prevent any potential damage.

Dampier mentioned that Prince William and Princess Kate may not allow Prince Louis to "thumb his way through the expensive copy and ruin it by damaging some pages." The Duke of Sussex reportedly purchased the 1926 AA Milne book from Peter Harrington in London.

According to Dampier, Prince Harry might have also acquired a "cheaper version" of the limited edition so that Prince Louis can enjoy reading it without concerns about potential damage.

The sentimental gift holds special significance for Prince Harry, reminding him of his childhood when his late mother, Princess Diana, used to read him bedtime stories. A friend of the duke shared, "She loved all the old classics, and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions for Louis, Charlotte, and George to enjoy as they get older."
