Recently under scrutiny for altering a Mother's Day photo following a two-month public hiatus, Kate Middleton's relationship with Prince Harry has apparently deteriorated amid their ongoing royal feud.
Despite their once close bond, the Duke of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge are said to be no longer on speaking terms. Nonetheless, Prince Harry remains worried about his sister-in-law's well-being in light of the recent controversy.
The Princess of Wales, who had been out of the public eye since undergoing abdominal surgery in January, shared a photo of herself with her three children in an attempt to dispel conspiracy theories regarding her health.
However, the move seemed to backfire as four prominent photo agencies—AP, AFP, Reuters, and Getty Images—issued a 'kill' notice over allegations of image manipulation at the source.
Kate issued an apology the following day, admitting to experimenting with the image. Nevertheless, a friend disclosed to The Mirror that the royal is "deeply upset" by the ensuing drama.
While Prince Harry has yet to make a public statement on the matter, he is reportedly hesitant to reconnect with Kate given the strain in their relationship.
Royal expert Christopher Anderson, speaking to Us Weekly, remarked that Harry is "concerned" for Kate's well-being but acknowledges her desire to distance herself from the Sussexes.
Anderson noted that Kate is currently preoccupied with her own challenges and may not be prioritizing the rift between the royal family and the Sussexes, despite their once "very close" friendship.
Furthermore, Anderson suggested that Harry may be reluctant to reach out to Kate due to past experiences of being met with a cold reception during his visits to the UK.
"Every time he’s gone there, he’s been given the cold shoulder and he’s aware of that," Anderson observed. "I think he fears it’ll just be the same situation all over."
