Queen Camilla and Prince William Lead Royal Family at 'Major Event' in Absence of King Charles and Kate Middleton

Today marked Prince William's first public appearance since Princess Kate's apology for the Mother's Day photo controversy.

In the absence of King Charles and Kate Middleton, Queen Camilla and Prince William took center stage, leading the Royal Family at a significant event.

Camilla, who recently took a brief break in March to recharge after a series of royal engagements in February, represented King Charles at the Commonwealth Day Service held at Westminster Abbey.

The Queen was accompanied at the service by Prince William, Princess Anne, the Duchess of Edinburgh, and Prince Edward.

Notably, Princess Kate, 42, was unable to join her husband as she continues to recuperate from abdominal surgery she underwent in January. According to reports from the Mail, Kate had a prior "private appointment," which prevented her from attending today's service.

This event marked Prince William's return to public appearances following Princess Kate's admission of editing the Mother's Day photo. Kensington Palace has faced mounting pressure to release the original photograph after the Princess apologized for altering the family portrait, which featured herself with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
