Prince Harry 'Deeply Upset' by Prince William's Rejection Before Wedding

Prince Harry had a poignant request for Prince William the night before he married Meghan Markle.

Six years ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were gearing up to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary. Their fairy tale wedding took place at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle in May 2018. However, their lives have since taken a dramatic turn, with the couple stepping back from royal duties and relocating to California, resulting in minimal contact between Harry and his older brother, Prince William.

On May 19, 2018, William was by Harry's side as Meghan walked down the aisle. However, Harry recently disclosed that he "felt sick" following a tense conversation with William the night before the wedding.

In his memoir "Spare," Harry recounts spending the evening with friends at Coworth Park Hotel, where he stayed the night before his wedding. He mentions that William, who had just welcomed his third child, initially planned to join them but canceled at the "last minute" due to commitments with "Kate and the kids."

Harry reminded William of their tradition of having dinner together the night before William's wedding, followed by greeting the crowds. Harry claims William asked, "Why are you even saying hello to the crowds, Harold?" To which Harry admitted in his book, "I felt sick about it."

Despite this, Harry conceded that William eventually changed his mind about greeting the crowds and did agree to join his brother. Harry speculated, "Maybe Granny intervened."

Harry pressed William about having dinner together and staying the night. Eventually, William agreed to dinner but declined to stay over, reportedly telling his brother, "Sorry, Harold. Can't. Kids."

Since that day, the relationship between Harry and William has deteriorated, with their rift widening significantly. A major flashpoint occurred when Harry released his memoir in January 2023. In the book, he reveals how he and William had a physical altercation during an argument at Kensington Palace and how Meghan ended up in conflict with the Princess of Wales.

As the Sussexes continue their life in California, the once-close bond between the brothers remains strained, with no clear path to reconciliation in sight.
