The Prince of Wales aligns with a competing platform, delivering an unexpected shift in the Sussexes' streaming rivalry.
Prince William has stunned Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with his latest announcement regarding a partnership with Disney+ for his upcoming documentary. The new project, titled Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, will debut on November 1st on Disney+, offering an in-depth, behind-the-scenes perspective on the first year of The Royal Foundation’s Homewards initiative.
The timing of this partnership has raised eyebrows, as it places William on a competing platform to Harry and Meghan, who previously secured high-profile deals with Netflix and Spotify upon relocating to the United States in 2020. Their arrangement with Spotify came to an end in mid-2023 after Meghan's podcast Archetypes released a limited run of 12 episodes.
William’s documentary, produced by Mindhouse with direction from BAFTA award-winning Leo Burley, aims to challenge public perceptions and provide inspiration around solutions to homelessness. This project will first launch in the UK on ITV before premiering internationally on Disney+.
With this strategic media move, William’s choice has been perceived by many as a fresh blow to Harry and Meghan, underscoring the ongoing dynamics between the brothers.
