Prince William's New Look Brings an Emotional Reaction from His Youngest Child
Prince William recently shared a surprising story about how his daughter, Charlotte, was moved to tears by his unexpected decision to grow a beard. During a candid interview in Cape Town on November 7, the Prince of Wales revealed that Charlotte had a “flood of tears” when she first saw him with facial hair.
Recounting the incident, William explained, “I convinced her it was going to be okay,” noting that his daughter initially found the change unsettling. He admitted that his new beard had to pass a crucial family test: “Charlotte didn’t like it the first time. I got floods of tears, so I had to shave it off.”
When asked about his laid-back appearance with the new facial hair, William acknowledged the irony, saying, “It’s interesting you say that because I couldn't be less relaxed this year.” He referenced the challenging year, during which both Catherine and King Charles faced cancer diagnoses. Despite the personal struggles, he added, “It’s more a case of just crack on and you’ve got to keep going.”
