Monarch Shares Joyful Update During Royal Variety Performance
King Charles has shared heartwarming news with royal fans, revealing that he and Queen Camilla are considering welcoming a new canine companion.
The announcement came during the King’s solo appearance at the Royal Variety Performance on Friday, as Queen Camilla rested at home on doctors’ advice following health concerns. During the event, King Charles mentioned the possibility of adopting a new dog following the recent loss of Beth, Queen Camilla’s beloved rescue dog.
Speaking with the evening’s hosts, Alan Carr and Amanda Holden, the King reflected on the idea of adding a new member to their family. Amanda shared, “He was so sweet and apologised for [the Queen] not being there. When we offered condolences for Beth, he mentioned they might get a new dog and wished us a Merry Christmas.”
Alan added, “It was the first time I met him, and he was lovely. We talked about Her Majesty, and he seemed genuinely touched.”
Beth, a rescue from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, had been a cherished companion to Queen Camilla. Buckingham Palace recently released a heartfelt farewell message for the late dog, highlighting her special place in the royal household.
Fans have since encouraged the royals to adopt again from Battersea, honouring Beth’s legacy. The prospect of a new dog has brought comfort to many royal supporters, who continue to admire the couple’s devotion to their pets.
This potential new addition reflects the couple’s enduring bond with their animals, providing solace and joy amid moments of loss.
