Sussexes Brace for Tense Times as Past Choices Resurface Under New Political Climate
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly grappling with renewed stress and uncertainty following Donald Trump’s recent election win, which could exacerbate existing challenges for the couple.
Royal commentator Lee Cohen, a frequent critic of the Sussexes, suggested that their "poor decisions" over the past few years may now be catching up with them. Speaking to GB News, Cohen remarked, "With Trump’s victory, it seems like a form of karma for the couple’s previous missteps."
Trump has been vocal about his disapproval of Meghan and Harry, even questioning Prince Harry’s U.S. visa status. During a past interview with Nigel Farage, Trump expressed skepticism over whether the Duke of Sussex properly disclosed his past drug use—a topic Harry openly discussed in his memoir, Spare.
Cohen noted that while Harry’s visa situation may not be a top priority for Trump, the former president’s return to power could still spell trouble for the Montecito couple. "Trump’s strong opinions about the Sussexes could lead to renewed scrutiny of their choices," he said, hinting at potential "sleepless nights" for Meghan and Harry.
The former president previously criticized the couple for "betraying" the late Queen and has claimed that Meghan’s influence has strained Harry’s relationships within the royal family. "I’m not a fan of Meghan Markle," Trump stated in a past interview. "I think she’s used Harry terribly, and he may live to regret it."
As Trump’s presidency looms, Meghan and Harry might find their past decisions weighing heavily, adding to the growing pressure they already face.
