Duchess Opens Up About Homesickness and Holiday Traditions
Meghan Markle recently shared a poignant reflection on homesickness during the holiday season as rumours circulate about Prince Harry’s potential return to the UK for a royal reunion.
Speaking with Marie Claire, Meghan revealed her family’s "low-key" Thanksgiving celebrations with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. She also discussed the importance of community, drawing from her recent holiday dinner with Afghan women supported by the Welcome Project, a program she and Harry launched in 2023.
Reflecting on the emotional weight of the holidays, Meghan remarked, "From my standpoint, I think part of why we wanted to make sure we had this opportunity to all be together again — so many of us — right now is that as the holidays come up, and have already begun in many regards, it brings up so much emotion for people."
She continued, "You miss home, you miss your country, and also can find comfort in the new community that you have here. I’m grateful that we are able to be a part of that community."
