Duke of York Faces New Allegations Amid Ongoing Tensions with King Charles
Prince Andrew has been accused of financial misconduct, with a woman claiming she lost millions in a dispute involving the Duke of York’s finances.
The controversy centres on Andrew’s continued residence at the upscale Royal Lodge, despite being advised by King Charles earlier this year to downsize to Frogmore Cottage. Isabelle de Rouvre, who was involved in the sale of a luxury ski chalet, alleges that Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, still owe her more than £3 million.
Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, de Rouvre voiced her frustration: “I am missing millions because of this man. I agreed to reduce the debt because they claimed they didn’t have the money. Now he says he has plenty of finances—where is this money coming from? They once appeared cash-strapped, but now they seem affluent.”
The accusations come after King Charles cut off Andrew’s reported £1 million-a-year allowance, which had previously supported him following his withdrawal from royal duties after his controversial 2019 Newsnight interview. Despite the loss of financial backing, the Duke appears to have secured alternative means to fund his lifestyle.
Sir Michael Stevens, the keeper of the privy purse, recently confirmed that the funds supporting Andrew’s stay at Royal Lodge are from legitimate sources. Nonetheless, the Duke’s continued residence at the Windsor estate, shared with Sarah Ferguson, has stirred ongoing tensions with King Charles and raised questions about their financial transparency.
