Royal fans were left saddened by news that Princess Michael of Kent, a prominent royal figure, sustained serious injuries following a fall at Kensington Palace just days before King Charles’s pre-Christmas lunch.
The 79-year-old royal reportedly broke multiple small bones in her wrists after putting her hands out to break her fall. Despite her injuries, she attended the Buckingham Palace event on Thursday, wearing splints on both wrists.
Princess Michael, who is married to the late Queen Elizabeth II’s first cousin, Prince Michael of Kent, revealed in an interview with Majesty Magazine that the accident has made everyday tasks challenging.
“So many things that you rely on being able to do, like cleaning your teeth, are impossible,” she shared, adding that she is currently typing with one finger on her mobile phone.
The royal also expressed concern about the recovery process, saying, “I am told that, after an accident like this, if you do one wrong movement on top of the unhealed bones, you are back where you started.”
Despite her difficulties, Princess Michael displayed resilience by attending the festive gathering, which brought together many members of the Royal Family. Her determination and presence at the event have garnered admiration from royal watchers.
