Monarch’s Gesture Sparks Speculation Amid William’s Reservations
King Charles III is reportedly planning a touching surprise for his son Prince Harry and his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, during this year’s Christmas celebrations.
According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, the King is expected to send gifts to the Sussex children and connect with them via a Zoom call to ensure they feel included despite being thousands of miles away in California.
Speaking to Fabulous magazine, Harrold shared, “I’m willing to bet there will definitely be some sort of [Zoom] communication on Christmas Day. There’s no question the King will want to see his grandkids on Christmas Day.”
Harrold added that Charles is likely to exchange gifts with the Sussexes, emphasizing the monarch’s desire to maintain family connections. “The King will send gifts. I guarantee you that something will be sent, and likewise, gifts will be sent to Grandpa or Grandmother from the Sussexes,” he said.
The King’s efforts highlight his reputation as a “family man” who values reconciliation, especially during the festive season. Harrold suggested that even a virtual interaction could serve as a step toward healing the rift within the royal family. “Christmas is seen as a time for families to heal rifts. Just talking on Zoom can be part of that healing process,” he noted.
However, the move comes amid reports that Prince William remains hesitant to reconcile with his brother. Sources suggest that the Prince of Wales is still hurt by comments Harry and Meghan have made about his wife, Catherine, in recent interviews and publications.
As Charles seeks to bridge the family divide, his gesture toward Harry and Meghan underscores his hope for unity, even in challenging times. Whether this Christmas surprise will mark a turning point for the royal family remains to be seen.
