Duke of Sussex Reaffirms Commitment to Life in the US
Prince Harry has dismissed persistent rumours about his relationship with Meghan Markle and ruled out a return to the UK, reaffirming his decision to raise his family in the United States.
Speaking at The New York Times DealBook Summit in New York, Harry addressed speculation about his future while Meghan attended a star-studded event in Beverly Hills, honouring her friend and filmmaker Tyler Perry.
When asked by host Andrew Ross Sorkin about his long-term plans, Harry confirmed his commitment to staying in the US. “I do. I love living here and raising my children here,” he said, emphasising that life in America offers his family the privacy and freedoms they couldn’t enjoy in the UK due to security concerns. Harry noted that this aligns with the kind of life his late mother, Princess Diana, would have wanted for him.
Harry also took the opportunity to laugh off ongoing rumours about his marriage to Meghan. “Apparently, we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?”
His comments come as the Sussexes continue to pursue separate public engagements. Their last joint appearance was over 100 days ago during a trip to Colombia. While Harry was in New York, Meghan turned heads at the Paley Honors gala in California, attending a fundraiser at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
Harry’s candid remarks underline his satisfaction with their life in the US, dispelling speculation about both their relationship and any potential return to royal life in the UK.
