Prince Harry and Meghan Address 'Missing Millions' Claims Amid Scrutiny on King Charles’ Finances

Archewell Report Dispels Speculation as Monarch Faces Criticism Over Private Estate Earnings

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have addressed rumours about “missing millions” in their charitable foundation’s finances as they release the 2024 Impact Report for Archewell Foundation.

The report clarified that the foundation raised $5.7 million in 2023, with $1.3 million allocated to charitable causes. The remaining funds will support ongoing and future projects. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex emphasised transparency in their financial dealings, with tax records confirming they do not receive any salary from the foundation.

Speculation about $4 million reportedly unaccounted for in Archewell’s 2022 tax filings was also addressed, with the foundation confirming the amount is accounted for in its 2023 filing.

Meanwhile, King Charles and Prince William have come under fire following an investigation by Channel 4 Dispatches and The Sunday Times, which revealed their duchies’ private estates earn “secret millions” from public sector entities, including NHS hospitals, schools, and prisons. Although the duchies claim to be self-funded and not reliant on taxpayer money, the investigation has raised questions about the ethics of profiting from public services.

The Sussexes’ clarification and King Charles’ financial controversy highlight the contrasting scrutiny faced by different members of the royal family, as transparency and accountability remain central to public discourse.
