Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Lead 'Lonely' Life in Montecito

Neighbours Reveal Sussexes' Isolation Amid Their California Lifestyle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly living a secluded life in Montecito, California, with neighbours and observers highlighting their absence from community activities.

Richard Mineards, a Montecito resident, shared insights with German journalist and filmmaker Ulrike Grunewald for her upcoming documentary on the Sussexes. “Sometimes you will see Meghan at the farmers’ market or walking a dog, but generally, you don’t see her, and you just don’t see much of Harry. It’s a shame. This is a lovely place,” he said.

Grunewald’s research uncovered that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have largely “isolated themselves” from Montecito’s vibrant social and cultural life. “The cultural life here is lively, but often takes place in closed circles. Harry and Meghan rarely participate in these activities,” she revealed.

Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan have sought independence in the U.S., but these revelations suggest a degree of loneliness in their chosen lifestyle. Their isolation contrasts with Montecito’s bustling community, known for attracting millionaires and billionaires who immerse themselves in the area’s rich social fabric.

The couple’s reserved presence in their neighbourhood adds a poignant layer to their post-royal journey, as they navigate a life away from the spotlight of the British monarchy.
