Prince of Wales Unveils 2024 Earthshot Report Amid Arrival of Qatari Royals
Prince William has shared an exciting update about his Earthshot initiative as Buckingham Palace prepares to welcome the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani for a state visit.
In a video message, the Prince of Wales revealed that The Earthshot Report 2024 will debut on BBC iPlayer on December 15. The programme will showcase the progress of Earthshot Prize Finalists and highlight global advancements towards sustainability.
"Our planet needs our help, and every year counts," William said in the announcement. "So what have we achieved in 2024?"
Accompanying the video, the statement reads:
"The Earthshot Report takes a deep dive into previous Earthshot Finalist stories, looking at the global picture and showing how we are progressing towards a sustainable future. Watch The Earthshot Report, introduced by Prince William and hosted by Hannah Waddingham, from December 15 on BBC iPlayer."
This announcement coincides with the arrival of the Qatari royals for their state visit. King Charles, alongside Prince William and Princess Catherine, will host the Amir and Sheikha Jawaher, though Queen Camilla will be absent due to her recovery from a viral chest infection.
William’s commitment to environmental innovation through Earthshot and his prominent role in the state visit underscore his growing influence within the royal family as he continues to champion causes close to his heart.
