Releases Emotional Message Supporting Survivors of Abuse
Queen Camilla has issued an emotional message in a new video released by King Charles III's office, coinciding with her ongoing work supporting survivors of abuse.
In a clip shared on the royal family’s social media accounts, the 77-year-old Queen celebrated 50 years of Women’s Aid, a charity providing lifesaving support to survivors of abuse and their families. Her message, shared by Buckingham Palace, read: “Together, we will put an end to it.”
The statement comes shortly after Prince Harry ruled out a UK return for his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, during an interview at the New York Times DealBook Summit. Harry reiterated his decision to relocate to the US in 2020 and expressed his satisfaction with raising his family there.
In the video, Camilla paid tribute to Women’s Aid and their efforts, saying: “Thank you to Women’s Aid for your focus and support to this critical issue. To our Queen, thank you for giving this a platform. Together, we will put an end to it.”
The statement also highlighted the global significance of the Queen’s engagement: “Coinciding with the United Nations #16Days, a global campaign to end violence against women and girls, The Queen joined survivors, supporters, and staff of the charity as they mark their 50th anniversary year.”
Founded in 1974, Women’s Aid oversees a network of 180 specialist organisations and almost 300 support services aimed at ending violence against women and girls.
Adding a touch of royal connection, Camilla donned a dress previously worn by the Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, during her recent engagement in Hounslow. Sophie, often referred to as the royal family’s “secret weapon,” had worn the £3,600 Loewe leather midi dress during her visit to Cranford College, where she participated in a cooking event last month.
