Kate Middleton has reportedly emerged triumphant in a royal challenge that tested both her and Meghan Markle, with insiders revealing the Princess of Wales managed to withstand the intense pressures that come with life inside the monarchy.
While Meghan stepped down from royal duties in 2020 alongside Prince Harry — citing relentless media attacks and internal tensions — royal expert Tom Quinn suggests that Kate faced similar scrutiny early in her marriage to Prince William but endured with grace.
In his book Yes, Ma'am: The Secret Life Of Royal Servants, Quinn quotes a former Kensington Palace staffer who said, “Kate is actually a much stronger person than Meghan in many ways.” The source added that Kate was open to guidance from both junior staff and senior courtiers, even when met with initial snobbery.
The insider explained that both women endured “backbiting, gossipy criticism,” but where Meghan saw herself as being mistreated, Kate viewed the challenges as part of royal duty. “What Meghan saw as Kate being pushed around, Kate saw as an essential part of being a member of the Royal Family,” they noted.
Though Meghan retains her royal titles, she holds no active role in the monarchy. In contrast, Kate has become a central figure in the Firm, admired for her dedication, composure, and rising influence within the royal family.
