Hollywood star shuts down ‘feud’ talk and hints at possible appearance on Meghan’s show
Gwyneth Paltrow has offered a candid update on her relationship with Meghan Markle, dispelling rumors of any rivalry between the two Montecito-based women and embracing the quiet beginnings of a friendship.
Speaking at the Mindvalley Manifesting Summit on May 17, the Iron Man actress told People magazine that while she and the Duchess of Sussex haven't spent much time together, they do stay in contact.
“We have a text friendship so far. I've been travelling quite a bit,” Paltrow shared.
Addressing online speculation of tension between the two lifestyle entrepreneurs, Paltrow firmly dismissed the idea:
“I don't like that, when people try to pit women against each other.”
It’s a view she’s long held. In a March interview with Vanity Fair, the Goop founder declared, “Another woman is never your competition. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything they want to try.”
When asked whether she would consider joining Meghan's upcoming Netflix series With Love, Meghan, Paltrow was open to the idea:
“Sure! Why not? You never know. I don't bake that well, but I can always try.”
The pair even playfully shut down feud rumours during a cheeky Instagram Q&A in March, where Meghan made a surprise appearance on camera.
Now both residents of Montecito, California, Paltrow suggested the serene setting might be helping their connection flourish:
“It’s just got that very special, calm beauty and lots of nature. It’s really nice.”
With warm words and open possibilities, Paltrow’s update signals nothing but support and curiosity for whatever comes next in their budding friendship — and potentially, on-screen collaboration.
