Duchess of Sussex faces personal setback as once-close bond reportedly unravels
Meghan Markle has reportedly parted ways with a longtime friend in the fashion world, marking another personal setback in her post-royal chapter.
According to The Mail, the Duchess of Sussex is no longer on speaking terms with former British Vogue editor Edward Enninful — a figure she once praised as a “like-minded thinker” during their collaboration on the magazine’s landmark “Forces for Change” issue in 2019.
Tensions are said to have grown after Meghan and her team allegedly pushed for prominent coverage of the Sussexes’ charitable ventures, hoping for a print or digital cover story. However, Enninful was unable to accommodate the request, having already secured that month’s cover lineup.
A source revealed:
“The Duchess and her team had high expectations and were expecting she might get a print cover or at least a digital cover out of it, but Enninful was not able to meet those expectations.”
Despite offering Meghan a high-profile feature within the magazine and online, she reportedly declined the proposal.
“The whole process became very difficult,” the insider added.
The alleged fallout adds to a growing list of strained relationships since Meghan and Prince Harry’s departure from royal duties in 2020, further highlighting the challenges the couple has faced in balancing public visibility with personal and professional boundaries.
