Royal commentator warns of potential fallout as Sussexes mark 7th anniversary
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary, royal commentator Bev Turner has raised concerns about the future of their relationship, claiming Meghan’s tendency to portray herself as a victim could eventually cause serious strain.
Speaking to People, Turner criticised Meghan’s podcast appearances, calling them “painful, self-indulgent, narcissistic, and saccharine.” She added, “They are so sentimental and self-indulgent—me, me—and she gets to tears.”
Turner warned that trouble may emerge if Meghan begins to view herself as a victim within the marriage. “The issue is going to be when she turns on him,” she said. “Someone like that who is always casting herself as the victim—once she thinks she’s the victim of him, it’s going to go horribly wrong for Harry.”
Despite her sharp criticism, Turner did commend Meghan’s talent, particularly her work on Suits. “She was a fantastic actress. I do not care what anyone says—she is really good. She's beautiful on camera,” she noted.
Turner also questioned Meghan’s decision to walk away from Hollywood, suggesting the career move may have long-term emotional consequences.
The comments surface as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrate their May 19, 2018 wedding anniversary, a reminder of how public scrutiny continues to follow the couple even in their most personal moments.
