Prince Harry ‘Sidelined’ as Meghan Markle Leads New Netflix Deal

Duchess takes centre stage in revised partnership while Duke is reportedly left out

Prince Harry has reportedly been excluded from the latest phase of the Sussexes’ partnership with Netflix, as Meghan Markle is said to be taking the lead in a newly renewed deal with the streaming platform.

The couple initially signed a multi-million-dollar agreement in 2020 to produce content under their Archewell banner, debuting with the successful docuseries Harry & Meghan. Despite the strong start, subsequent projects have been limited.

Now, sources claim the contract is being renewed—but with significant changes. The new deal is described as “much reduced” in comparison to the original and is reportedly centred entirely on Meghan. Unlike the first agreement, it will not include an upfront payment.

An insider told The Sun on Sunday that Meghan's close proximity to Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos in Montecito, California, and his admiration for her creative vision, played a key role in securing the renewed deal. A source cited by MailOnline also noted that this shift could signal the beginning of a “professional separation” between the Duke and Duchess.

The Duchess’s series With Love, Meghan is expected to return for a second season this autumn, with a third instalment already in the works. Netflix also remains connected to Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever, which launched earlier this year.

While Meghan’s media presence continues to grow, Prince Harry’s absence from this deal has raised questions about his future role in the couple’s public ventures.
