Duke faces renewed scrutiny amid anniversary celebrations with Meghan Markle
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marked their wedding anniversary on May 19, troubling revelations from Meghan’s past reignited concerns about the couple’s inner circle and future stability.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who wed in 2019 at Westminster Abbey, celebrated another year together despite ongoing speculation about tensions in their relationship. However, attention turned to Meghan’s reported fallout with former friend and Vogue editor Edward Enninful, stemming from disagreements over a 2022 magazine feature.
According to reports, Meghan clashed with Enninful over editorial direction for the planned September issue. The dispute allegedly led Meghan to withdraw from the project entirely, leaving the editor “furious.”
Royal biographer Hugo Vickers weighed in on the incident, describing Meghan as “very demanding” and “difficult to work with.” He suggested a pattern of falling out with close friends and associates, citing her estranged relationship with her father, ex-husband, and former confidantes including Jessica Mulroney.
Vickers also raised concerns for Harry, who he says has grown increasingly isolated. “There is a theme here—she seems to fall out with people or push them away,” he noted.
The warning comes just as the Sussexes celebrated their milestone, highlighting the continued turbulence surrounding their public and private lives.
