Prince William's Clarkson’s Farm Appearance Sparks New Royal Rift Speculation

Prince of Wales joins show hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, long-time Meghan Markle critic

Prince William is facing renewed scrutiny over his strained relationship with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following reports that he will appear in an upcoming episode of Clarkson’s Farm — a programme fronted by outspoken Meghan Markle critic Jeremy Clarkson.

As reported by The Mirror, the Prince of Wales’s appearance is linked to a March event celebrating the Duchy of Cornwall’s support for the next generation of farmers, during which William met with Clarkson’s Farm regulars Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland.

However, the decision to align with Clarkson — who infamously penned a 2022 Sun column in which he wrote that he hated Meghan “on a cellular level” and fantasised about her being publicly humiliated — has raised eyebrows. The article was condemned as sexist, sparked over 25,000 complaints, and was pulled by the publisher. Clarkson later issued a public apology, calling it a "clumsy" Game of Thrones reference, but the damage had already been done.

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan criticised Clarkson’s history of “hateful” commentary and noted that while he apologised privately to Harry, he failed to reach out to Meghan.

While Prince William’s involvement with the show is focused on agricultural work and youth engagement through the Duchy, his collaboration with Clarkson is being interpreted by some as a pointed — or at the very least, indifferent — gesture in the context of ongoing tensions within the royal family.

With no signs of reconciliation between the royal brothers, the upcoming episode is likely to draw further attention to the deepening divide — adding another layer of controversy to an already fractured relationship.
