Princess Kate has shared a touching message after fulfilling a key royal duty during her and Prince William’s recent visit to Scotland. Kensington Palace released a delightful video capturing the Princess of Wales as she officially named the Royal Navy’s new warship, HMS Glasgow, during a special ceremony on May 22.
In the video, Catherine is seen standing proudly at the BAE Systems shipyard, declaring, “I have the pleasure to name this ship, HMS Glasgow. May God bless her and all who sail on her.” The Palace accompanied the post with the message, “To HMS Glasgow, go well, fair winds and following seas.”
The event marked a significant moment for the future Queen, who serves as the official sponsor of the state-of-the-art Type 26 frigate. Kensington Palace also shared images from the couple’s visit, highlighting their warm interactions with shipbuilders, apprentices, and families of the Ship’s Company.
“A pleasure to meet with members of the Ship’s Company and their families, as well as BAE Systems’ Shipbuilding Academy apprentices and graduates, and some of the incredibly skilful teams involved in the building of the ship,” their team shared online.
