Queen Camilla’s Niece Ayesha Shand Opens Up About Health Battle and Royal Support

Camilla praised for compassion as niece shares emotional journey with endometriosis

Ayesha Shand, niece of Queen Camilla, has spoken out about the Queen’s steadfast support during her battle with endometriosis. The 30-year-old marketing executive reflected on her health challenges at the 13th Annual Endometriosis Foundation of America’s Blossom Ball in New York on May 15.

Describing her condition as “agonising” and “unbearable,” Shand revealed that Queen Camilla has been a constant source of strength throughout her ordeal. “I’m very close to my aunt. She’s been incredibly supportive of my journey with endometriosis and always listens to me,” she shared.

Shand praised the Queen as “incredibly intelligent, really funny, and very compassionate,” recalling their close bond that began in her childhood. “When I was younger, we used to read a lot together,” she said, noting Camilla’s enduring passion for literature and her work with reading charities.

A year ago, Shand underwent surgery in New York to remove pelvic lesions, performed by top endometriosis specialist Dr. Tamer Seckin. Through it all, she says her aunt’s encouragement has helped her navigate the painful journey.

From countryside dog walks to shared stories, their enduring connection has remained a source of comfort, reminding Shand she’s not facing the struggle alone.
