Trooping the Colour marks a fresh, hopeful chapter for the royal family
King Charles III appeared healthy and uplifted as he celebrated his official birthday on Saturday, June 14, surrounded by senior members of the royal family at the 2025 Trooping the Colour parade.
The cheerful monarch was joined by Queen Camilla, Prince William, Catherine, and their children for the grand occasion. Also present were Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie, Princess Anne, Timothy Laurence, and the Gloucesters.
The atmosphere was filled with smiles and renewed energy, as the royal family seemed to leave behind the recent cancer struggles faced by both the King and Catherine. From the Buckingham Palace balcony, the senior royals showcased unity, grace, and tradition in a dazzling public display.
The ceremony, steeped in military precision and royal splendour, concluded with a lighthearted moment as the youngest of William and Catherine’s children gave a cheeky wave to the crowd, earning warm laughter and affection from onlookers.
Royal commentator Ingrid Seward told The Sun: “They all looked relaxed and joyful, as if they had at last put all the troubles of the King and Catherine’s cancer diagnoses behind them.”
A poignant pause in the celebrations came during a minute’s silence to honour the victims of the Air India flight tragedy. As head of the Armed Forces, the King appeared moved but proud, clearly taking comfort in the joy shared by his family and the nation.
Despite a gusty wind making it difficult for Queen Camilla to hold onto her hat, she maintained her poise and elegance throughout the event, further adding to the day’s charm and regal spirit.
