Duchess of Sussex dominates 2025 social media with record-breaking reel views
Meghan Markle’s return to Instagram has proven highly effective, as she surpasses Prince William and Catherine in reel engagement throughout 2025.
After launching her Instagram reels on New Year’s Day, the Duchess of Sussex has attracted widespread attention. Her account averages 7.6 million views per reel across 22 posts, accumulating 168 million total views so far this year.
Her most successful reel — announcing the rebrand of her lifestyle venture from American Riviera Orchard to As Ever — has alone reached 26.9 million views since February.
By comparison, the Prince and Princess of Wales’s Instagram, despite boasting 16.8 million followers, averages just 2.8 million views per reel. Their 47 reels this year have brought in 134.8 million views in total.
Analysts suggest Meghan’s higher numbers stem from the exclusivity of her page, which serves as her sole direct communication platform. In contrast, updates from William and Catherine are spread across multiple social media channels, potentially diluting Instagram-specific engagement.
