Duke of Sussex reportedly regrets leaving UK as LA violence fuels security concerns
Prince Harry is reportedly questioning his decision to leave royal life behind, as fresh concerns about safety in the United States cause him to reconsider his family's future.
According to RadarOnline, the Duke of Sussex is said to be “fleeing America in terror” over fears for the safety of his children, following a surge in violence across Los Angeles. The report claims Harry has privately admitted, “I’ve made a huge mistake with my life.”
The speculation follows Meghan Markle’s recent Father’s Day video tribute to Harry, which featured never-before-seen moments with their children, Archie and Lilibet. The video was released amid one of the most violent weekends in Los Angeles, as unrest during “No Kings” protests left parts of the city in chaos.
The disturbing scenes — including cars set ablaze and shops looted — have reportedly left Harry deeply unsettled. Some sources suggest the Duke believes the only way to ensure his family’s safety is to leave Los Angeles.
Harry previously lost publicly funded UK security after stepping down as a working royal in 2020. Despite legal efforts to reinstate it, his case was dismissed in May 2025. In a BBC interview following the verdict, Harry said he was “devastated” by the outcome, stating, “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”
His legal team reiterated that the UK remains his true home, but the absence of official protection makes any return impossible under current circumstances.
