With Catherine absent from Royal Ascot, Princess Anne steps in for King Charles at key engagement
Princess Anne has once again stepped up for King Charles, attending a meaningful engagement in place of her brother as questions continue to swirl around Catherine's health.
This week, the Princess Royal presented the King’s Award for Voluntary Service to the Forres Nairn and District Riding for the Disabled Group. The visit included time with riders, trustees, and volunteers who work to provide therapeutic riding sessions for children with disabilities.
Representing the royal family, she praised the group's efforts and their wider impact, particularly initiatives supporting children and individuals living with dementia.
Chairwoman Emma Gregg called it a "great honour" to receive the award from Princess Anne, adding, “Her passion for horses is well documented… she stayed much longer than planned, showing a genuine interest in both our work and the people involved.”
Anne’s appearance followed Catherine’s unexpected withdrawal from the Royal Ascot event, a development that has reignited public concern over the Princess’s ongoing health challenges.
