Duchess Sophie Honors Catherine’s Cancer Journey with Touching Tribute

Royal family shares update as Duchess of Edinburgh visits garden festival in support of Princess of Wales

Duchess Sophie has paid a heartfelt tribute to Catherine, Princess of Wales, as the royal family continues to show solidarity following the Princess’s public battle with cancer.

A new video shared by the royal family on July 4 captured Sophie’s radiant appearance at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, where she explored the grounds, admired floral displays, and engaged with environmental initiatives.

During the visit, the Duchess of Edinburgh viewed two particularly meaningful blooms: “The King’s Rose” and “Catherine’s Rose.” The latter was recently introduced by the Royal Horticultural Society to honour Catherine’s courageous health journey.

Kensington Palace previously confirmed that proceeds from the sale of “Catherine’s Rose” will go toward The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity—an organisation closely associated with the Princess—which helps cancer patients across the UK live well during and after treatment.

In addition to the floral tribute, the mother-of-two also spent time with local schoolchildren who were attending the festival to learn about environmental awareness and horticulture. The children were joined by beloved British TV characters, The Wombles, adding a touch of nostalgia to the day.

The outing highlighted Duchess Sophie’s ongoing commitment to supporting Catherine and to engaging with causes close to the royal family’s heart, while offering a touching gesture of unity during the Princess’s ongoing recovery.
