The Prince and Princess of Wales to lead welcome for French President Macron, marking a new royal chapter
King Charles has reinforced the importance of Prince William and Catherine within the monarchy by entrusting them with a prominent role during the upcoming state visit of France’s President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will personally greet the French Presidential couple upon arrival at RAF Northolt and accompany them to Windsor. This symbolic gesture highlights their rising influence within royal circles.
Following their welcome, King Charles and Queen Camilla will formally receive the Macrons at Windsor’s Royal Dais, where a royal salute will be fired both at Home Park and the Tower of London. The French guests will also take part in a carriage procession to Windsor Castle, where the King and President Macron are expected to inspect the Guard of Honour. Meanwhile, Queen Camilla, Catherine, and Mrs. Macron will observe the ceremony.
While Catherine’s attendance at the state banquet remains unconfirmed, her growing presence in official duties remains evident. Earlier this month, she made a surprise appearance at Colchester Hospital’s Wellbeing Garden, where she reflected on the emotional challenges of her ongoing cancer treatment.
This renewed focus on the Prince and Princess of Wales sends a clear message: the royal spotlight has shifted, with the Duke of Sussex now firmly outside the fold.
