Duchess reportedly backs royal peace talks for the sake of family and children
Meghan Markle is said to be fully supportive of Harry's renewed efforts to reconcile with King Charles, as behind-the-scenes talks between their aides fuel speculation about a possible royal reunion.
The Duke of Sussex has long expressed a desire to mend ties with his father, and recent photographs of their representatives meeting in London have sparked hope that peace could be on the horizon.
According to royal expert Jennie Bond, Meghan has no intention of standing in the way of Harry's path to reconciliation. Speaking to The Mirror, Bond shared that Meghan, who “loves her husband,” is unlikely to be a barrier to healing the royal rift.
“It's important to remember that the King and Meghan had a warm and affectionate relationship at the start,” she said, recalling how King Charles even walked Meghan down the aisle at her 2018 wedding—a fatherly gesture that symbolized their early closeness.
Bond believes that Meghan will see the value in Harry reconnecting with his family, especially for the sake of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. “I think she would also welcome the chance for her children to get to know their grandfather and understand their heritage,” Bond added.
Unconfirmed reports have even suggested that Meghan once sent videos of Archie and Lilibet to King Charles—before tensions deepened between Harry and the wider royal family.
With growing signs of openness from King Charles and quiet support from Meghan, there may finally be a path forward for the Sussexes and the monarchy to rebuild fractured ties.
