Dampier referenced remarks allegedly made by Lady Elizabeth Anson, a friend of the late Queen Elizabeth II, suggesting the monarch believed Meghan had no real desire to remain a working royal. "She saw marrying Harry as a stepping stone," he said, adding that Prince William had concerns from the beginning.
In response, sources close to Meghan have pushed back firmly against the accusations. Speaking to Page Six, an insider stated, “The opinions of Mr. Dampier are just that — opinions. They are completely without merit and not grounded in fact.”
The source continued, “There is no way Mr. Dampier, nor anyone at The Sun, could possibly know what the Duchess’ intentions were or are, about anything.”
