Princess Anne to Attend Royal Welsh Show Ahead of Her 75th Birthday

Princess Royal to mark milestone year by championing rural life at major UK agricultural event

Princess Anne has sparked excitement with news of her upcoming engagement, just weeks before celebrating her 75th birthday in August. Often referred to as the hardest-working royal, the Princess Royal is set to make a return to the Royal Welsh Show in Llanelwedd on Monday, July 21.

This visit marks her first appearance at the prestigious agricultural event since 2022, and continues a royal connection that dates back to 1981, when she first attended. The Royal Welsh Show is one of the largest events of its kind in Europe, showcasing the very best of Welsh farming, food, and rural traditions.

Zara Tindall’s mother is expected to tour the grounds and meet with those involved in agriculture and rural development — causes she has long supported.

Aled Rhys Jones, Chief Executive of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society, confirmed the Princess’s attendance and expressed the organisation’s delight. “We are absolutely thrilled that The Princess Royal will be joining us at this year’s Royal Welsh Show,” he said. “Her Royal Highness has long been a passionate advocate for agriculture and rural communities.”

He added, “We look forward to sharing with her the many highlights of this year’s event, including the exciting innovations and developments that have taken place since her last visit.”

As the Royal Family continues to navigate a busy season of public duties, Princess Anne’s presence at the show will no doubt be a major highlight — and a fitting tribute to her decades of unwavering service.
