Beatrice and Eugenie’s Silence Won’t Help Prince Andrew Amid Scandal

New book release falls on Princess Beatrice’s 37th birthday

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are remaining silent as their father, Prince Andrew, and their mother, Sarah Ferguson, face renewed controversy. Royal experts say that even if the sisters spoke out, their support would do little to help their parents’ reputations.

The claims come from Andrew Lownie’s new biography The Rise and Fall of the Yorks, which explores the family’s strained dynamics. The book accuses Andrew of indulging in a hedonistic lifestyle, surrounding himself with controversial friends, and engaging in secretive financial dealings. It also alleges that he once made inappropriate remarks about Catherine, Princess of Wales, though the specifics remain unclear.

Lownie further claims that Prince William has been pushing for Andrew and Sarah Ferguson to leave Royal Lodge, their 30-room Windsor home, because Andrew has failed to maintain the property properly.

So far, Beatrice and Eugenie have kept their distance from the scandal. Royal biographer Ingrid Seward noted: “I am not surprised they have not come out and said anything in his defence. For his girls to show their solidarity publicly wouldn’t benefit them in any way. They are likely finding this very difficult—it’s a horrid time.”

Another source added bluntly: “They are keeping their distance from their dad.”

Adding to the awkward timing, the book’s release coincides with Princess Beatrice’s 37th birthday.
