As ‘With Love, Meghan’ returns this autumn, the lifestyle legend weighs in with cautious remarks
As Meghan Markle prepares to launch the second season of her Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan this autumn, Martha Stewart has shared a carefully worded statement that appears to question the Duchess of Sussex’s authenticity in the lifestyle arena.
Meghan has often drawn comparisons to lifestyle icons like Stewart and Gwyneth Paltrow while building her personal brand. Reflecting on those comparisons earlier this year, Meghan said, “Those are incredibly successful businesswomen, so I don’t take that lightly. That means a lot if there’s any comparison made in that regard.”
But Stewart didn’t echo the enthusiasm. In an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle Australia, she said, “Meghan, I don’t really know very well, and I hope she knows what she’s talking about. Authenticity, to me, is everything—and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important.”
In contrast, Stewart had high praise for Paltrow, saying, “Gwyneth has been very successful. She created quite an interesting body of businesses. She’s admired. She won an Oscar, for heaven’s sake! She’s pretty powerful.”
This isn’t the first time Stewart has commented on Meghan’s lifestyle efforts. In April, when asked about With Love, Meghan, she admitted: “I haven’t seen it yet, but I will watch an episode and see how she does. I’m curious.”
As Meghan continues to carve out her place in the competitive lifestyle world, Stewart’s comments highlight ongoing skepticism about the Duchess’s expertise and staying power—just as her series gears up for its next chapter.
