Duchess previews birthday surprise just hours after monarch’s luxury dog collection makes headlines
Meghan Markle is reclaiming the spotlight after King Charles III stole some of her thunder with a surprise product launch of his own.
Just as anticipation was building for Meghan’s As Ever lifestyle brand to unveil its latest offering, the King rolled out his Balmoral Pet Collection on August 3 — a luxury range of tweed accessories and all-natural treats for dogs, inspired by the royal estate.
The unexpected timing of the King's announcement came just ahead of Meghan’s 44th birthday and a planned drop of her brand’s next vintage of Napa Valley Rosé.
Not one to back down, the Duchess of Sussex responded with a sleek teaser video posted to As Ever’s Instagram page. The clip showed Meghan carrying a basket brimming with bottles of her signature rosé, accompanied by the caption:
“Goodness in a glass. Right around the corner. Cheers to August!”
She had previously hinted at the launch via her newsletter, promising fans:
“Our new vintage of As Ever’s beloved rosé is available next week.”
While Meghan gears up to celebrate privately with her family in Montecito, King Charles’ newly unveiled pet line continues to grab attention with its curated royal appeal. His collection features a range of high-end canine accessories, including a tweed coat, a collar-and-lead set, a treat pouch, chicken-stock biscuits, and a food bowl bearing the royal coat of arms.
As both Sussex and sovereign expand their respective empires, it appears brand rivalry in the royal family is alive and well.
