Meghan Markle’s Natural Confidence Stole the Show in Dublin

Body language expert says Harry looked more nervous than his new bride during their first overseas tour

When Meghan Markle and Harry travelled to Dublin in July 2018 for their first overseas royal visit, many assumed the newlywed duchess would be the one feeling anxious. Instead, experts say it was Harry who appeared on edge while Meghan displayed natural poise and quiet authority.

Body language specialist Judi James told the Daily Mail that the Dublin trip, just weeks after their wedding, revealed a dynamic few expected. “We assumed we were seeing new bride Meghan nervously learning the ropes, being ushered and protected by her confident and experienced new husband. But in fact, the opposite appears to have been true,” she explained.

According to James, Harry showed “acute nervousness and anxiety,” while Meghan looked “regally gracious, quietly alert and often in control.” She suggested Harry may have felt pressure to impress his wife or even anxious on her behalf.

The analysis comes as Meghan celebrated her 44th birthday earlier this month, while Harry turns his focus to a new philanthropic venture. The Duke is believed to be working on a fresh charity project with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho after stepping away from Sentebale, the organisation they co-founded.

Harry resigned from Sentebale earlier this year following criticism that he had damaged the charity’s reputation. His new partnership with Seeiso suggests he is determined to continue his work in Lesotho despite the split.
