Royal commentator says peace efforts with King Charles may be too late
Harry and Meghan Markle's attempts to mend their relationship with King Charles and the wider royal family may falter due to what one royal expert calls a critical misstep.
The Duke of Sussex recently held a meeting in London with aides to the monarch, described as a promising first step towards reconciliation. However, royal commentator Duncan Larcombe has criticized the couple for doing “the bare minimum” despite the so-called peace summit.
“They're on a charm offensive and have employed people to help improve their image, and show they're trying to build bridges and move on,” Larcombe told GB News. “It’s very much to make them appear like good guys who are trying to make friends — but it’s come far too late to make a difference.”
Harry has previously spoken of wanting to put grudges aside and reunite with his father, who is undergoing cancer treatment, saying that life is too short for ongoing feuds.
