Duke of Sussex plans fresh venture to continue work in Lesotho and Botswana
Harry is reportedly planning to launch a new charity with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, following their joint resignation from Sentebale earlier this year.
The Duke stepped down in March after a report claimed his role in the charity was “harming” his reputation. Despite the public rift, he remains committed to the cause, particularly efforts to combat poverty and Aids in Lesotho and Botswana.
According to an insider, Harry and Prince Seeiso are exploring the creation of a potential rival organization or collaborating with existing charities in the region. “The Duke is anxious that the fight against poverty and Aids carries on,” the source told the Daily Mail. “Both are keen to work together on a new venture.”
A spokesperson for Harry told GB News that “all options remain on the table,” including a standalone charity or partnership with others.
The development comes after royal author Phil Dampier criticized Harry for prioritizing celebrity appearances over resolving internal disputes at Sentebale. Dampier noted that a Charity Commission report blamed both Harry and the former trustees for airing disagreements publicly. He added that concerns had been raised about the Duke's polo matches in “glamorous locations” and questioned why Harry had not worked more closely with the former chairwoman to resolve tensions.
