Sussexes bring Archie’s favourite dance craze to Netflix

Couple’s new project highlights Ugandan children’s charity

A viral lockdown dance trend once adored by their son Archie is now at the heart of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s latest Netflix venture.

Harry and Meghan’s production company, Archewell, has produced Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within, a short documentary shining a light on a Ugandan charity that gives orphaned children a safe home, education, and hope for the future.

The couple were first drawn to the Masaka Kids after watching their viral dance clips during the pandemic. “They would watch the videos regularly with Archie at home,” a spokesperson told The Telegraph, noting that they were admirers of the group long before the film project began in 2023.

Although the Sussexes were not directly involved in filming, the project reflects their original promise for Archewell Productions: to showcase diverse voices and share uplifting stories.

The documentary is expected to premiere on Netflix later this year.

This news follows Meghan’s 44th birthday celebrations earlier this month. Meanwhile, Harry is said to be preparing to launch a new charity with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho after stepping away from Sentebale, the organisation they co-founded. Reports suggest Harry left following criticism that his actions had damaged the charity’s reputation.
