King Charles said to be “delighted” as Duke of Sussex pushes for UK education
Prince Harry is reportedly eager to raise his children with stronger ties to the UK, but Meghan Markle remains cautious about the idea.
During his recent four-day visit beginning September 8, Harry confided in a friend that he wants Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, to attend school in Britain. Speaking to the Daily Mail, the source claimed: “I can tell you that Harry wants to educate the children here in the UK. He believes the UK offers the very best education.”
The Duke’s renewed interest in British life is said to have been sparked by his reunion with King Charles after 19 months apart. The monarch is reportedly “delighted” at the prospect of Archie and Lilibet spending more time in the UK.
Meghan, however, has reservations. She is said to consider traditional boarding schools “barbaric” and may need convincing before agreeing to Harry’s plan. The source added: “There is still some negotiation for Harry to have with Meghan.”
Harry is determined for his children to grow up with the same “family network” as their cousins George, Charlotte, and Louis, who are being raised in Windsor. Speaking to The Guardian, the Duke reflected: “I have always loved the UK and I always will love the UK… It’s been good to reconnect with the causes I am passionate about. It is hard to do it from far away.”
Royal watchers believe Harry’s return with Archie and Lilibet could come sooner than expected, with King Charles also invited to the United States following Donald Trump’s recent state visit.
Meanwhile, Harry has shared his thoughts on moving back with several friends, including singer Joss Stone, who recently returned to the UK with her own family. She told Hello! magazine: “He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children. Maybe Harry will move back too.”
