Prince and Princess of Wales host the Trumps at Windsor Castle during state visit
Princess Catherine’s return to public life has been marked by a show of admiration from an unlikely figure. As she and Prince William welcomed Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, to Windsor Castle, the former US president singled her out for praise.
According to GB News, Trump’s team described Catherine’s prominent role in the visit as an “honour,” with one insider saying, “The inclusion of Princess Kate in so many events during the State Visit is an honour.”
On September 17, the Prince and Princess of Wales joined a carriage procession and State Banquet in support of King Charles and Queen Camilla. Catherine was also given a significant task by the monarch: she will appear alongside Melania Trump at Frogmore Gardens to meet children from the Scouts’ Squirrels programme.
The visit comes after a difficult year for the Princess of Wales, who has returned to royal duties following treatment for cancer. Her presence at the high-profile occasion underscores her importance within the royal family.
Trump, who has previously been critical of Meghan Markle, spoke warmly about the King, saying: “They’re friends of mine for a long time, since before he was King, and it’s an honour to have him as King. I think he represents the country so well. He’s such an elegant gentleman.”
Catherine’s praise from Trump has drawn attention not only because of her growing stature within the monarchy but also because of the stark contrast with his frequent negative remarks about Meghan.
