Princess Diana’s Brother Shares Touching Update as Tensions Grow Between William and Harry

Charles Spencer posts heartfelt tribute while reports claim Prince William resists reconciliation

Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, has shared an emotional message from Althorp just as reports suggest Prince William has stepped back from peace talks with Harry.

On September 1, Spencer posted a photo of flowers left at Diana’s memorial on the 28th anniversary of her death. He wrote: “Beautiful flowers, left yesterday by Althorp’s visitors.”

He explained that the memorial is open to the public only in July and August each year, in line with a 1992 agreement with the UK Government. It opens on Diana’s birthday, July 1, and closes on August 31, the day of her passing.

Spencer also expressed gratitude to the Althorp House team for their dedication in welcoming visitors. He singled out Sarah P for her leadership and Marion, a guide retiring after 40 years of service, promising a special celebration for her and her family.

His tribute comes as tensions continue between Diana’s sons. According to The Daily Beast, a close friend of William said the Prince of Wales disapproves of Harry’s plan to reunite with King Charles during his upcoming UK visit for the WellChild Awards on September 8. The Duke of Sussex is widely expected to see his father, who is undergoing treatment for cancer—a meeting William reportedly considers “a terrible plan.”
