Royal expert says reconciliation is possible but only if Harry makes a big sacrifice
Harry could soon meet William and Catherine in person, but according to one royal commentator, it will only happen if he is ready to make a major concession.
The Duke of Sussex recently took a step toward reconciliation with his father, King Charles, during a private meeting at Clarence House. While details of their discussion remain private, both Buckingham Palace and Harry’s team confirmed the meeting, sparking hope for the future. Naturally, attention has now shifted to whether a similar reunion between Harry and his brother is possible.
Dame Jenni, a royal commentator, believes it is—but only if Harry is willing to apologise to the Prince and Princess of Wales. She argued that an apology could be the turning point in repairing the fractured bond between the brothers.
Reflecting on their dynamic, Dame Jenni noted how William and Harry’s relationship fits the familiar “first and second son” pattern. As she explained, the elder sibling grows up with a clear sense of duty—in William’s case, a role he was born into—while the younger often struggles to define his path.
She believes responsibility falls on both sides. Harry, she said, must own up to the hurt caused by his public criticisms, while William should avoid making his brother feel like a spare part in the family. “They need each other. They are family,” she stressed. “It’s love that counts. And most of all, it’s what their mother would have wanted.”
