Buckingham Palace Shares Update on Princess Anne as Prince Andrew Faces Fresh Setback

Princess Anne’s new royal engagements draw praise amid reports of Andrew’s banner removal from Windsor Castle

Buckingham Palace has issued a new update on Princess Anne, highlighting her ongoing public duties as her brother Prince Andrew faces renewed scrutiny following the removal of his royal banner from St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The Palace released photos of King Charles III’s only sister during her visit to Surbiton, where she met residents and staff at the Royal Star & Garter. It marked her first visit since becoming Patron of the charity, a role she inherited from her late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

“The Princess Royal has spent time with residents of the Royal Star & Garter, where loving, compassionate care and support is given to veterans and their families living with disability or dementia,” the Palace said in a statement. “This marks Her Royal Highness’s first visit since succeeding Queen Elizabeth II as Patron, who held the role from 1953 until 2022.”

The post received a wave of admiration from royal followers, with many praising the Princess Royal’s dedication. One commenter wrote, “She’s so hardworking and dedicated,” while another called her “a wonderful and gorgeous lady.”

Princess Anne has maintained a busy schedule, recently visiting the British Racing School and Newmarket Pony Academy in Suffolk, as well as a Save the Children shop in Whitby, Yorkshire. Known for her lifelong passion for horses, the accomplished equestrian competed in the 1976 Olympics and has continued to support equestrian causes throughout her life.

A longtime supporter of humanitarian efforts, she has served as Patron of Save the Children since 2017, having previously led the charity as its president for nearly five decades.

Her continued visibility contrasts sharply with Prince Andrew’s position, as reports confirm his banner’s quiet removal from Windsor — a symbolic reminder of his ongoing distance from royal duties.
