Kate Middleton and Prince William Disagree Over Princess Charlotte’s Hobbies

Conflicting details from the royal couple reveal a charming glimpse into their family life

Royal fans got an unexpected look into the Wales family dynamic this week—and it seems Catherine and William might not be in full agreement when it comes to Princess Charlotte’s favourite activities.

During her visit to RAF Coningsby on Thursday, the Princess of Wales delighted onlookers by chatting with children about her own family. She revealed that while George and Louis are passionate about football, Charlotte has developed an interest in hockey. The friendly exchange, which included ten-year-old Robin Sansum, offered a warm, relatable moment that gave fans a peek into everyday life for the royal children.

However, Catherine’s comments seemed to contrast with what William recently shared on The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy. Appearing on the show from Windsor Castle, William spoke about his children’s hobbies and energy-filled home life. “Louis loves the trampoline—he’s obsessed with it,” he said. “Charlotte does a lot as well. Most of the time, they’re just bouncing up and down, beating each other up.”

He went on to describe Charlotte’s main activities as netball and ballet, adding that George enjoys both football and hockey. His version gently corrected Catherine’s earlier account, suggesting that Charlotte’s interests have shifted and that George, not Charlotte, is the hockey enthusiast.

Despite the small mix-up, both Catherine and William offered rare, genuine insights into their home life—reminding the public that even the royals can have slightly different takes on what their children are up to.

As she left RAF Coningsby after her extended visit, Catherine apologised for running late with a smile: “I’m sorry, I totally outstayed my welcome!” Her charm and warmth once again reinforced why she continues to capture the public’s affection.
